Just to let you all know, the main modifications I'm planing on making
to schooltool's gradebook is jjust replacing the existing
implementation with the one we use in CanDo, refactoring along the
way.  I envision the two gradebooks to have a lot of similarities
except that Competencies all have the same unified score system, while
activities can have all sorts of score systems.  Also, competencies
have a highly tree based structure while activities are more
straightforward.  But I'd love to know the user stories from the other
side of the pond :)
