A few thoughts:
* I need an account on the Cando Trac instance so I can comment there.
* We've already got an unfinished resource manager in SchoolTool; it
is particularly important that we leave Dallas with something
"finished" enough for beta testing. Starting with something
unfinished and ending with something even more complicated but equally
unfinished is just not an option.
* The basic model used in SchoolTool now is sound. Reservations
should be based on calendar and timetable events. We just need more
intuitive views for creating the reservations.
* I think for the purpose of the sprint we should focus on a
*reservation* system and not a larger asset management system. As a
result, we should really only be interested in objects that can be and
primarily are reserved individually. That is, we are interested in
reserving the laptop cart, not tracking the status or location of the
individual laptops within in (yet).
* Location & resources. Locations are a special type of resource.
All other resources have a "home" location where they are assumed to
be when they aren't scheduled for a specific event. Reservation
events may have locations, but they aren't required to.
* Can we say any resource that can't be moved is a location?
* I don't think we should do any containment or nesting.
* DIfferent types of equipment should be handled as simply as
possible. Essentially like tags, or at most a controlled vocabulary
that can be set ttw.
* The current security/permissions policy for scheduling resources
should be sufficient, or close to it.
* What happens if something is not checked in or out on time?
