I disagree, you need both. There are plenty of points where someone may
want to say I think I have this comp done. DO NOT discourage a student
from submitting evidence for something by locking them out.

How much of this UI headache is really cando UI and how much is
schooltool's.

If you could get even simple images up before the HTML... it should be
pretty quick... digital camera and upload.
